A hospital car park has closed today for refurbishment works.

Level C of the Princess Anne car park will be closed from 8am today, Friday, September 6 until 6pm on Saturday.

Access in and out of the yellow car park will also be closed on Saturday between 6am and 7am and 4pm and 6pm.

The closures come as the next stage of refurbishment works get underway at the hospital’s neonatal unit.

A spokesperson from University Hospital Southampton said: “Please note it will not be possible to access any vehicles in the car park after 5am on Saturday until 6pm that day so staff and patients are being advised to move vehicles ahead of this.

“These closures may cause congestion around our hospitals so please allow extra time to account for any disruption.”

What can I expect?

  • A two-minute drop off will be available: right of the ambulance platform, near the PAH entrance
  • Long-term parking: main orange car park at Southampton General Hospital (SGH)
  • Blue Badges parking: relocated to outside the PAH entrance
  • Traffic marshals will be onsite to help signpost patients and visitors

The spokesperson added: “These closures will enable us to progress the next phase of works to refurbish our neonatal unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.”
