This is the full list of fines levied for people who flouted bus lanes, zig zags and drove in restricted areas in Southampton.

As reported, Southampton City Council enforced £3.8m in fines over eight years.

The council has eight fixed automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) camera locations.

bus gate was introduced in Portland Terrace in late February this year and it has already caught more than 4,000 offending motorists.

The number of PCNs issued from each of the ANPR sites alongside the income received and the date the cameras went live is as follows:

  • Shirley Road bus lane: 44,902, £1,211,041.45, June 27, 2016
  • Northam Road bus lane: 17,038, £447,547.38, June 27, 2016
  • New Road bus lane: 26,159, £732,791.25, June 27, 2016
  • Vincent’s Walk bus gate: 44,078, £1,317,155.21, February 27, 2018
  • St Monica zig zag: 149, £5,256, September 22, 2020
  • Ludlow Infant/Junior zig zag: 1,363, £40,204.01, September 7, 2020
  • Foundry Lane zig zag: 727, £22,828.66, July 20, 2020
  • Portland Terrace bus gate: 4,039, £49,155, February 27, 2024

Cantel East and West zig zags are enforced but do not have fixed cameras, the authority said.

The city council would not disclose the cost of installing the ANPR cameras and buying the mobile enforcement vehicle, citing commercial interests.
