A shoplifter has been jailed for stealing more than £500 worth of food, alcohol and petrol.
Shane Wright of Brunswick Place, Totton was jailed for four months after pleading guilty to six counts of theft from a shop at Southampton Magistrates' Court.
Magistrates heard on Thursday (August 5) that Wright stole £513 worth of items from Morrisons in Totton, and Tesco stores in Totton and Southampton.
Among the stolen items were Lurpak butter, cheese, Stella Artois and whiskey.

He also admitted making off without payment at a petrol station in Millbrook on July 10.
He stole £84.66 worth of fuel.
Magistrates found that the offences are "so serious that only a custodial sentence can be justified".
They added that he has a "flagrant disregard for people and their property" and refuses to work with probation to address his drug issues.
The 22-year-old must pay £504.01 in compensation.
