A Southampton restaurant has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating after a visit from hygiene inspectors.
Shanghai Bay, a restaurant located on Above Bar Street, was given a four-out-of-five rating after an assessment on August 3 by the Food Standards Agency.
The eatery is a family run Chinese restaurant that has been serving the residents of Southampton for 10 years, after first opening in Swaythling in 2014 before moving to Above Bar Street in 2016.

In the report, the Food Standards Agency rated Shanghai Bay 'Good' with regards to cleanliness of the facilities and management of food safety.
The restaurant was rated 'generally satisfactory' with regards to hygienic handling of food, including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage.
Specialising in a rage of Chinese cuisine, a notice on the restaurant's website reads: "We are becoming one of the most popular Chinese restaurants in Southampton."
