Labour MPs have defeated a bid to block plans to cut winter fuel payments to around 10 million pensioners - here is how MPs in Hampshire voted.
Labour’s new plan would see controversial changes to make the payment means tested, rather than an annual tax-free lump sum.
Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves announced the change in July, to plug what she referred to as a ‘£22bn blackhole’ in finances.
Today, September 10, MPs voted on an opposition motion that sought to block the government's plans.
Here is a breakdown of how Hampshire MPs voted
Voted against the government
Eastleigh - Liz Jarvis
Hamble Valley - Paul Holmes
Fareham and Waterlooville - Suella Braverman
New Forest West - Sir Desmond Swayne
New Forest East - Sir Julian Lewis
Gosport – Dame Caroline Dinenage
Voted to support the government
Southampton Test – Satvir Kaur
Southampton Itchen - Darren Paffey
Cannot vote on the motion:
Romsey and Southampton North - Caroline Nokes
Ms Nokes is one of the deputy speakers in the House of Commons and cannot vote on the issue.
