The British Transport Police have revealed why trains were disrupted and running at a reduced speed at Southampton Central station.
At around 4pm on Tuesday, South Western Rail stated that trains were running at a reduced speed while police deal with an incident near the railway at Southampton Central.
An SWR spokesperson said: "Due to the police dealing with an incident near the railway at Southampton Central trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines.
"Train services running through this station may be delayed. We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."

British Transport Police were dealing with the incident on the ground on Tuesday afternoon.
A spokesperson for the Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Southampton Central railway station at around 3.45pm yesterday, September 10, following reports of concern for welfare.
"Officers attended the incident and a person was taken to a place of safety."
Despite running at reduced speeds, trains in Southampton were not cancelled or adversely delayed due to the incident.
