Three men forced their way into a house, making threats and assaulting the occupants, police have said.
The group allegedly tried to break into a property in Cobbett Close in Stanmore, Winchester, at around 7pm on Sunday.
Now, Hampshire Constabulary has charged a man from Southampton with aggravated burglary and kidnap.
Charles Toby Simmonds, 21, from Swaythling Road, was arrested at his home on Tuesday.
Simmonds has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Basingstoke Magistrates Court today, September 18.
