The road was closed as crews investigated a suspected gas leak, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service has revealed.
Crews from Eastleigh, Redbridge and St Mary's attended the property shortly after 8am.
However, a spokesperson has said that it was a false alarm.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “It was found to have been a false alarm, with firefighters conducting a home fire safety check prior to leaving the scene at around 9.30am.”
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary also confirmed they were called at 8.10am, regarding a concern for welfare of a man.
He was taken into the care of the South Central Ambulance Service before police left the scene.
