A bomb squad was called to a busy road following the discovery of suspected explosives.
Police officers carrying out routine enquiries on Tuesday located the suspected explosive items at an address in Swaythling Road.

Colleagues from the Hampshire Constabulary's Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were called to the scene in West End.
The item was later confirmed to be a commercially available ‘firework-type’ item.
It was seized by police but confirmed to be safe and legal, and not a threat.
