A man has been charged with possessing a knife in a public place following an incident in Southampton.
Shortly after 1am on Saturday, September 21 police received a report that a man had been seen with a knife on Charlotte Place.
A suspect was located in East Park and searched under under Section 1 of the Police & Criminal Evidence Act 1984.
Police say a knife was seized and the man was arrested.
Michael James Channing Dorward, 47, of St Anne's Close in Shaftesbury, has now been charged with possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
He is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates' Court today (Monday).
