A police call handler has been awarded a national title for his innovative work.
Jack Bloomfield, based at Southampton Central Police Station, was named Apprentice of the Year at the national Inspire Justice Awards on Tuesday, October 31.
He was recognised for developing a new tool to help audit public contact with the police force.
Working with the Quality Assurance and Development team, Jack created 'Journey of a Call', a system that enables the police to scrutinise public interactions more effectively and identify areas for improvement.
This initiative aims to enhance the service provided to victims of crime.
The annual Inspire Justice Awards, organised by Skills for Justice, honour outstanding individuals and teams in the justice sector.
Jack Bloomfield's achievement highlights the significant contributions made by apprentices in the field.
The Emergency Contact Handler Apprenticeship is a nationally recognised qualification for new contact management staff.
The 18-month programme, which runs alongside the apprentice's regular duties, is supported by Learning and Development Standards Officers.
