Police have asked residents to avoid Stranding Street after a "live firearms incident" this afternoon.
Officers rushed to the residential street in Eastleigh just before 2.40pm.
The incident is believed to involve a weapon, according to a spokesperson, but police have stressed there is no risk to the public.
An officer on the ground has said that it is a "live firearms incident".

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "Police were called at 2.39pm this afternoon (Tuesday, 24 September) in relation to the concern for welfare of a man at an address on Stranding Street, Eastleigh.
"The incident is believed to involve a weapon. There is no risk to the wider public.
"Specialist officers are in attendance and the incident is ongoing.
"Stranding Street is closed while officers deal with the incident so please avoid the area if you can."
