A Southampton site manager has won a major industry award.
Harry Harvey, 36, who manages the Minerva Heights development in Chichester, was honoured with the National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Award.
Mr Harvey, who has been a site manager for three-and-a-half years, was recognised for his work at Minerva Heights, the first development he has managed from the start.
He began his career with an apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery at the age of 16.
Out of more than 8,000 sites considered for the award, Harvey was one of only 449 site managers to receive the accolade.
Mr Harvey said: "It’s the pinnacle of site management to win a Pride in the Job award."
He attributed his success to hard work and effective communication with his team.
Mr Harvey will now be considered for the next stage of the competition, the Seal of Excellence, later this year.
