A major road in Hedge End that was plagued by months of road works is again set to close.

The A334 Charles Watts Way is set to be hit by various lane closures and temporary traffic lights in October and November.

The council have now said more works are needed for maintenance works to the embankment and drainage on the road.

It follows eight months of works following a landslide.

"The project involved replacing a significant amount of slipped material and making crucial improvements to the drainage and barriers.

"Some minor maintenance works to the embankment and drainage on the opposite side of the road need to be carried out.

"The works will initially involve vegetation clearance and drainage surveys. The initial survey works will involve a lane closure of the A334 during the night in the coming weeks and traffic lights during the day."
