A Brownie group celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special birthday party.

The 2nd Calmore Brownies, who first met in 1974, marked the milestone with a celebration evening at Calmore Community Centre on Tuesday, September 24.

The event was attended by more than 70 guests, including current Brownies and their families, Calmore Guides, and former leaders and commissioners.

Charlotte Miell, the current leader, and Kay Moran, one of the unit's original leaders, jointly cut the cake.

The evening concluded with a quiz narrated by Charlotte, covering the past 50 years, plus some guiding-related questions.

The celebration was supported by Morrisons, who donated food and drink for the event. The 2nd Calmore Brownies are part of Girlguiding, the UK's largest youth organisation dedicated entirely to girls.
