A long-serving dentist is retiring after more than three decades at a Romsey practice.
Richard Hurrell, who has worked at Heatherstone Dental Practice, in The Hundred, for 33 years, will be leaving his post after qualifying as a dentist in December 1983. His very day will be Monday September 30.
Throughout his career, Richard has been involved with the charity Dentaid, providing dental care abroad in less privileged areas and also locally in the charity's dental unit van.
Speaking about his retirement, Richard said he will miss the hundreds of patients who have placed their trust in him for their dental care over the years.

He plans to spend more time on his hobbies, including mountaineering and cycling with friends and family.
He also has a passion for encouraging young people to explore the outdoors, by supervising and assessing Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions and assisting with mountain trips for Scouts.
Richard's colleagues at Heatherstone expressed their gratitude for his contribution over the years.
A statement from the practice read: "Heatherstone feels lucky to have had Richard as their boss, colleague, and friend and everyone at Heatherstone will truly miss having him around.
"A big thank you for all the support throughout the years."
