Officers have arrested a 21-year-old in connection with a vandalism spree that saw cars and windows smashed in six residential streets in Southampton

At 2pm on Monday, September 30 police received several reports that a number of cars had been damaged in a car park on Golden Grove, Southampton.

Police then received reports of house windows and cars being smashed on Liverpool Street, Mordaunt Road, Dover Street, Cedar Road, Middle Street and Avenue Road.

Due to help from members of the public, police said a man was detained on Livingstone Road.

Hampshire Constabulary officers are now looking to get in touch with anyone who might have witnessed the incident or have any additional information. 

A police spokesperson said: "A 21-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of cannabis.

"We would like to speak to anyone who had property damaged in this area. If you have not already spoken to the police, please call 101 quoting reference 44240424307."
