A number of motorway closures may impact Southampton drivers this weekend according to National Highways.

These will be along the M3, M27 and M271 roads during the early hours of the morning.

If you're planning to travel along these roads from Southampton it would be best to take note of different diversions that may be in place.

Here are the closures along the M3, M27 and M271 that will be in place during the weekend of Friday, October 4 to Sunday, October 6.



Hampshire M3, M27 and M271 closures for Friday, October 4

M3

On the M3 northbound there will be a carriageway closure from Junction 7 to 6 for resurfacing work, which will take place from 9pm on Friday until 6am on Saturday.

Meanwhile, on the M3 southbound there will be an exit slip road closure at Junction 5 for maintenance work from 9pm on Friday until 6am on Saturday.

Finally, a link road from the M3 southbound to the M27 eastbound will be shut for major improvement works from 9pm on Friday until 6am on Saturday.

M27

On the M3 southbound way, there will be an entry slip road closure at Junction 7 for maintenance work.

This will take place from 9pm on Saturday until 6am on Sunday.

There are no closures scheduled for the M3 on this day.

M27

On the M27 westbound there will be an entry and exit slip road closure at Junction 8 for major resurfacing works.

This will take place from 9pm on Sunday until 6am on Monday.
