A Lymington landscaping display has been named Landscaping Display of the Year just six months after its transformation.
The display at Elliotts, which was formerly a hard-standing area for cars, won the award at the Builder's Merchant Journal Awards on Friday, September 27.
The transformation, completed in eight weeks, was officially opened by Lymington mayor, councillor Jack Davies, on May 15.
More than 40 products from popular landscaping suppliers, including Talasey, Millboard, Namgrass, Brett, and Long Rake Spar, are now on show.
Elliotts, recently named employer of the year at the Solent 250 Awards, enlisted exhibition builders Applewood and local landscapers Dh Landscapes to create the display.
It features a variety of lifestyle images and products, such as porcelain paving, composite decking, and timber sleepers. The new display was unveiled two years after Elliotts opened their Lymington branch, having invested £5 million into the site.
Mike Nicholson, Elliotts Lymington branch manager, said: "We’ve managed to showcase lots of brilliant landscaping products in a small space, so customers have a really good view of what’s available for their projects.
"We knew we had a cracking display as it was already bringing in enquiries before it was completed, so we're chuffed to have won Merchant Landscaping Display of the Year. It’s testament to the hard work of all the teams involved in the planning, design and install of the space."
Victoria Anderson, commercial manager for landscaping at Elliotts, said: "We wanted to move away from flat displays and create eye catching and inspirational spaces to showcase our products and highlight industry leading suppliers.
"Bringing products up to eye level was key for us, so we decided to work with specialists who had created spaces for the Ideal Home Show, and the Chelsea Flower Show."
