A theatre company is calling for creative members of the public to help them make a new show.

The Bunkum Ensemble is seeking individuals to help develop a new show, Honey Fungus, at The Point in Eastleigh.

The group is keen to hear from people across the area who want to contribute to the production, which explores themes of nature, connection, relationships, and the intriguing concept of a massive fungus beneath our feet.

The theatre company is interested in hearing from people with varying levels of experience in theatre. They are also keen to meet those who are passionate about plants, symbiosis, or the concept of the show itself.

The company said: "Wherever you’re starting from, and whatever way you like to express yourself - whether it’s by acting, writing, dancing, talking, doodling, designing, knitting, running, listening to music, making stuff…We want to meet you."

Over the next nine months, Bunkum Ensemble will collaborate with Bearface Theatre in Eastleigh and Brighton People’s Theatre to create a space for people to contribute to the project.

Currently, the group is only seeking expressions of interest. Those interested are encouraged to fill out a short form, after which more details will be provided. During the week commencing October 28, the company will run a series of 'Pay What You Decide' workshops.

These workshops are open to everyone, regardless of their experience level. Each session will have a specific focus aimed at building the show together. The workshops are designed to be light-hearted and enjoyable, offering a chance for participants to form a creative community.

Some workshops will take place during the day, while others will be held in the evening.

Attendance at all sessions is not mandatory, but the company hopes individuals will gain an understanding of how a show is made, from the initial idea to the first draft sharing.

Two workshops have been scheduled so far: Monday, October 28, from 6pm to 8pm, focusing on the world of the show; and Wednesday, October 30, from 6pm to 8pm, focusing on the characters.
