A New Forest-based charity has appointed a new trustee.

Friends of PEDALL, which provides inclusive cycling opportunities, announced Mike Wilson, a partner at Moore Barlow, will take on the role.

Pedall, founded in 2017, offers guided sessions with a fleet of specialist bikes for individuals who may face barriers to cycling or accessing the National Park.

The charity supports more than 4,500 rides each year, allowing people to experience the physical, mental, and social benefits of cycling.

Pedall’s diverse fleet of specialist cycles caters to a wide range of abilities, and families, friends, and carers are also encouraged to participate. As well as group rides, the charity provides sessions for schools, colleges, care groups, and residential homes, along with one-to-one sessions.

Pedall operates year-round from sites in Burley and Ashurst within the New Forest National Park. The sessions are led by qualified staff and supported by a team of 50 volunteers.

Mr Wilson, who leads the Moore Barlow Lymington office, specialises in high-value, complex residential transactions.

Viliame Nanovo, chair of Friends of PEDALL, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Mike to our board of trustees. His deep understanding of the local community, and his legal experience, will be invaluable to us as we continue to make a positive impact on the local community and ensure that cycling is accessible for everyone."

Mike Wilson, partner and head of Moore Barlow’s Lymington office, said: "It’s a real honour to join the board of trustees at Friends of PEDALL. The charity’s extraordinary work is transforming lives through cycling in our beautiful New Forest and I’m eager to play my part. Everyone should get to enjoy the area that we are lucky to live and work in and so I’m looking forward to supporting them and helping raise awareness."
