An Eastleigh family are desperately appealing for lifesaving funds after a 34-year-old suffered a stroke and was told he would need 30K to save his life.
Martial arts trainer Martin Avery, from Bishopstoke, is currently stuck in a hospital in Vietnam after suffering a shock mini stroke.
The 34-year-old has spent the last year living in Cambodia, training children and adults in Khun Khmer, a Cambodian martial art, at his own gym.

On September 27, the fighter was rushed to a Cambodian hospital after having a mini-stroke and it was quickly determined no doctor in the hospital could deliver the treatment Martin needed.
He was quickly taken via ambulance across the border to the FV Hospital in Vietnam where he was told he would need two stents inserted into the arteries in his neck to save his life.
Currently, the martial arts trainer is being put on blood thinners to keep him alive, but the permanent lifesaving treatment he needs is set to cost £30,000.
Martin's mother, Tina, 55, who works at Southampton General Hospital, said that Martin has dedicated his life to Khun Khmer and that the shocking stroke made him think he was going to die.
She said: “When I heard about what had happened and the situation Martin was in I was at work – I was just beside myself.
“I started to tell my boss at the hospital and before I could even finish he told me to get out there and be with my son – I was very grateful for that.
“No mother ever wants to go through this. I thought I wasn’t going to get my boy back.”
Martin’s parents, brother and sister have rushed out to be with him and help him raise the money he needs to save his life.

Tina added: “Martin has already spent all the money he has on his treatment.
“If anyone is able to give any money to support Martin’s treatment and save his life we would be forever grateful.
“He has gone from bouncing around the ring to not even being able to stand up.
“Martin is in much better spirits now we are with him – He really thought he was going to die.”
So far the fundraiser has reached £9,000 out of a target of £30,000.
