A CHINESE restaurant in a Hampshire market town has been told it needs to improve after an inspection.

Jumbo R2 Chinese restaurant and takeaway in Houchin Street, Bishop's Waltham, was slapped with a two-out-of-five rating for low standards in food hygiene handling.

The inspection, which took place on August 23, revealed that there was "improvement necessary" in the restaurant's "hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage".

If a business is awarded a low food hygiene rating, it has the right to ask for another inspection. After this inspection is conducted any change in the rating is updated online.

The Echo's sister paper the Hampshire Chronicle tried to contact the restaurant several times via the phone number available on the internet, but each time the call went straight to answerphone.
