The High Sheriff of Hampshire is calling for nominations for community awards.

The annual awards, hosted by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Community Foundation, aim to honour the efforts of public servants, individuals, volunteers, charities, and community organisations that contribute to making Hampshire a better place.

This year, particular emphasis will be on volunteers and groups that support the criminal justice system.

High Sherriff Jon Whitaker said: "I am delighted to have this opportunity to acknowledge ordinary people doing extraordinary things to make Hampshire a safer place to live.

"This year, the Community Awards will celebrate volunteers who are going above and beyond to support our criminal justice system.

"Already in my time as High Sheriff I have seen many examples of people going above and beyond – those who are quietly pouring their hearts and souls into making big changes in their community.

"These awards will shine a light on their acts of kindness, bravery and dedication to supporting our communities."
