Teachers and pupils are celebrating after winning a top award for their school.
Ballard School in New Milton won the title at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards on Tuesday, October 8.
The awards attracted more than 700 nominations from schools across the UK. Ballard School was celebrated for its inclusive 'for all' ethos.
Headmaster Andrew McCleave said: "These awards are open to every independent school in the country, so being recognised is a real honour and a truly proud moment in the school’s history. It is a testament to the exceptional work happening across our community.
"Our ‘for all’ ethos underpins everything we do here, and it is so pleasing to see that celebrated.
"Ballard is built on a foundation of inclusivity and mutual respect. Co-education is at the heart of our philosophy - boys and girls learn with and from each other, and every pupil is encouraged to challenge themselves and embrace all the opportunities that come their way.
"All of this has been made possible by the commitment of our passionate staff, the support of our wonderful families, and the positivity and enthusiasm of our pupils.
"On behalf of our whole community, I am delighted to see this acknowledgement of our shared success."
The Independent Schools of the Year Awards, now in their seventh year and organised by Independent School Parent magazine, acknowledges the commendable work being done in the independent sector.
The winners were revealed at a ceremony in London, attended by significant figures from the independent education sector.
This is Ballard's third time reaching the finals of the Independent Schools of the Year Awards. Previously, it was a finalist in the sporting achievement category last year and for excellence in performing arts in 2022.
The school has also previously won the excellence in arts award in the ISA Awards. Currently, Ballard is one of three finalists in the Independent School Association (ISA) Award for Excellence in Fine Arts & Design.
Ballard School, an independent, co-educational day school, continues to be recognised for its commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.
The awards are judged by an expert panel, including senior school leaders from across the education sector.
