A property consultancy firm has cut its carbon emissions by 42 per cent.

Vail Williams, which has offices in Southampton, made the announcement in its Carbon Reduction Statement for the financial year 2023-24.

The reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions, from 100 tonnes to 57 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCo2e), has been achieved since the baseline year of 2020-21.

This reduction is attributed by the firm to relocating to more energy-efficient buildings and sourcing energy from renewable sources.

The firm's members are also making the switch to electric or hybrid vehicles, with plans for the car fleet to be 100 per cent electric or hybrid by the end of May 2026.

Matthew Samuel Camps, Vail Williams managing partner said: "We will continue to make these positive changes in order to mitigate our impact on the planet together with encouraging staff in their charitable work and social impact through our volunteering gift days."
