Passengers from Southampton Airport could face disruption later this month as strike action is set to take place.
Some Italian pilots employed by easyJet and represented by UIL Trasporti are set to strike on Sunday, October 27, at the start of the October half term in the UK.
While strikes are not set to affect Southampton directly, as no easyJet flights from Italy go to the airport, airline compensation company AirAdvisor has warned passengers travelling from Southampton that they could be indirectly affected.
The strikes, due to take place between 1pm and 5pm, will cause the airline's resources to be stretched, the company warned.
At this time of year, easyJet flies from Southampton to Belfast and Glasgow.
However, a spokesperson for the airline has said it plans to operate a full schedule and does not expect travel disruption.

Anton Radchenko, who heads up AirAdvisor, said: “Our message is: be prepared for disruption and understand your rights as a passenger.
"If you’re travelling anywhere via easyJet on the 27th, be prepared for delays to your journey.
“It’s also entirely possible that easyJet services in other destinations will be affected by these strikes, so keep a close eye on their website approaching the weekend if you’re set to travel.
"This can happen when delays to flights causes a kind of domino effect, where other flights end up missing their departure slot and are forced to take off later than planned.
“The good news is that from a compensation perspective, as these strikes are within easyJet’s control, in other words they could have prevented them from happening - should your flight be cancelled or delayed by over three hours you will be due between £350 and £520 for the inconvenience."

In a statement, a spokesperson for easyJet said: “Should the industrial action go ahead, we do not expect disruption to our flying programme to and from Milan, Naples and Venice during the strike period.
“easyJet plans to operate its full schedule, and we would like to reassure customers that we will do everything possible to minimise any disruption.”
