A rural pub dating back to Tudor-times has sold for almost half a million pounds - and the new owners are looking to refurbish it.
The Shoe Inn, in Plaitford on the edge of the New Forest, was sold for £415,000 by Christie & Co on behalf of freehold owners Sam Nash and Peter Pringle.

Richard Wood, regional director of pubs and restaurants at Christie & Co who handled the sale, commented: “The Shoe Inn attracted multiple offers and significant interest due to its historic charm and prime roadside location.
"We are confident that Ricky and Manvinder Dhillon will make the property a great success with their plans for a full refurbishment."
The historic pub features a bar, restaurant, commercial kitchen, one-bedroom owner’s flat, and five en-suite letting rooms.
The property also includes a beer garden, storage area, garage, and parking for 36 cars across two car parks.
The pub has been sold to brother duo Ricky and Manvinder Dhillon, who plan to undertake a full refurbishment of the property prior to reopening.

Sam Nash commented: "We are delighted to have sold The Shoe Inn to Ricky and Manvinder Dhillon, after having owned and tenanted the property for several years.
"Richard Wood at Christie & Co was very professional and updated us at every stage of the sales process. We are very excited to see how they develop the property, and we know The Shoe is in safe hands."
Located in the village of Plaitford, near the Hampshire and Wiltshire border, the property sits 11 miles from Southampton and Salisbury, with excellent road connections via Junction 2 of the M27.
