Derelict block of flats have been almost completely torn down after years of standing empty.
The three blocks at Rowlands Walk are being knocked to the ground as part of the long-awaited Townhill Park regeneration.
One of the blocks has already been bulldozed by contractors Hampshire Environmental Services Ltd.
The ambitious project was announced in 2011 with 665 new houses promised.
But as of 2024, only 56 of those 665 have been delivered.
Now, the project has been kickstarted again thanks to funding from the Brownfield Release Fund awarded to Southampton City Council.

The money has also funded the demolition of two blocks at Benhams Walk.
Workers are in the progress of dismantling the interior of the buildings, known as the ‘soft strip’.
Asbestos removal works are also underway.
A total of 34 flats and 17 houses have been earmarked for the Rowlands Walk site.
The demolition works are due to be completed this winter.
The council is yet to announce who will be building the homes on the Benhams Road site - along with a site that formerly housed shops and a pub in Meggeson Avenue.
The would-be developers for Rowlands Walk are being evaluated this month.
