A busy road in the centre of Southampton is set to be shut for eight weeks.
Drivers in Southampton are being warned as Dale Valley Road in Bassett is set to close for eight weeks for works.
From October 21 to December 9 the road will be shut in both directions, but the council has said that access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
According to Causeway One.network Southampton city Council is undertaking a gas mains replacement work which will affect a 520-metre stretch.

In order to minimise the impact of the road works on local residents, two diversion routes have been put in place.
One takes drivers along Coxford Road where they will turn left vat the junction of Tremona Road and then re-join Dale Valley Road.
The other take drivers down Hill Lane, joining the A35 at the roundabout and then turning right to join Dale Road.
