A Fiat 500 driver was caught without insurance after a crash near Southampton Common.

Piotr Woloszyn, 34, was driving on Shanklin Crescent when he was caught red-handed by police officers.

He was caught on February 18 of this year and pleaded guilty to the offence at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on August 13.

Woloszyn also admitted failing to report an accident that he was involved in on February 18.

Damage was caused to a Toyota and Vauxhall as a result of the incident.

He did not provide his name or address to those involved in the crash, and did not report it within 24 hours. 

Woloszyn, of Rollesbrook Gardens, Southampton was due to appear before the same court on October 16.

He did not show, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
