A cyclist has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash near a primary school at around pick-up time.
Police were called just before 3.40pm yesterday (Friday, October 18) to the incident on Hampton Lane in Blackfield, between Blackfield Primary School and the health centre.
The cyclist was hit by a car which did not stop and had gone by the time police arrived.

The 55-year-old woman from Fawley suffered what police described as 'a serious but not life-threatening injury'.
Since the incident, police have launched an appeal for witnesses as part of their investigation - including any parents who may have been picking up their children and seen the circumstances of what happened.
A spokesman said: "We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this collision and anyone with information about the car that left the scene.
"If you have any information or relevant dash cam footage, please call 101 quoting reference number 44240454122."
