Heavy rain is battering Lyndhurst this morning as Storm Ashley hits.

A yellow weather warning was issued by the Met Office for the southwest of England, with the poor weather creeping into the east.

The national weather service said there could be a threat travel disruption, with flooding and interruptions to power supplies possible.

Organisers of the Great South Run cancelled the event due to take place today due to weather-related safety concerns.
