Motorists in Botley are being warned about a 14-mile diversion route put in place for roadworks on less than a half mile stretch of road.
The busy A334, Mill Hill, in Botley is set to shut from Monday, October 28, to Friday, November 1.
Southern Water is set to carry out utility repair and maintenance works at the site but access will still be granted for pedestrians.

Despite only effecting a 0.35 mile stretch of Mill Hill, a 14.6 mile diversion route has been set up for drivers taking them through Curdridge, Fair Oak, Bishop's Waltham, Lower Upham, Fishers Pond, Horton Health and Hedge End.
This comes as much of Hampshire and Southampton experienced congestion in recent days with the closure of the exit slip road at junction 7 of the M27.
