A spokesman for SWF Wrestling UK, said: “To keep any business going for 20 years these days is an achievement but in the entertainment sector where you can never guarantee audiences it’s a real accomplishment.
“We first started running shows back in 2004 at Chamberlayne Leisure Centre and The Thorngate Halls in Gosport in front of very small crowds, maybe 30 or 40 people.
“Over the years we have had some fantastic wrestlers appear for us including British wrestling legends Robbie Brookside, who is now a head trainer in Orlando for WWE, and the late Drew McDonald, who were both stars of World of Sport TV back in the 80s.
“Former WWE star – now AEW diva – Saraya (Paige) made several appearances for us during 2005 to 2008 and has since gone on to be a star of a Hollywood hit move, Fighting with My Family.”
In the last 12 months the company has had former WWE stars Scotty 2 Hotty and Gangrel both appear in Southampton.
The special anniversary event on November 8 will see children admitted entry for just £1, as SWF champion Joshua James defends his belt against 17-year-old ‘The Nightmare Kid’ Archie Cole, who could become the youngest SWF champion.
All the action kicks off at 7pm with doors opening at 6.30pm.
