A showcase celebrated the important work of voluntary groups in Eastleigh.
The event, known as the Eastleigh Showcase was held at the Pavilion on the Park.
It was organised by Community First and saw more than 350 people attending.
The event had more than 50 groups, including Age Concern Chandler’s Ford, Citizens Advice Eastleigh, and Solent Mind, showing people how they could help out in the community.
Eastleigh Borough Council supported the free event, and the mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Dave Pragnell, and Councillor Paul Bicknell, who is in charge of social policy, were both there.
During a speech the mayor said: "The voluntary groups and organisations in our community really do make a difference.
"This event is a fabulous way of connecting groups with each other and boosting their profile so people can see the amazing work they do.”
Tim Houghton, chief executive of Community First, said: "It was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout for the event and people expressing interest in volunteering. I hope that visitors left feeling inspired to join one of our brilliant local groups."
Andrew Saunders, health and communities partnership manager at Eastleigh Borough Council, said: "It was a fantastic event attended by so many different organisations and groups doing great work across the borough."
The groups said the event helped them meet others and that it was the best event they had been to in Eastleigh. The Eastleigh Showcase gave people the chance to find out about local charities, leisure clubs, and voluntary organisations.
