Maritime UK Solent has launched a new membership initiative for businesses on the central south coast.

The organisation, which connects maritime businesses from Poole to Chichester, is aiming to increase networking, collaboration, and influence on maritime policy.

Maritime UK Solent is the only regional maritime organisation of its kind, providing businesses with the opportunity to trade and secure national funding.

It also offers a platform for businesses to pitch to investors.

Anne-Marie Mountifield, Chair of Maritime UK Solent, said: "Maritime UK Solent started out in 2019 and in just five years has made an enormous impact on the regional sector - providing leadership, championing the great work that takes place here, and supporting businesses to grow.

"Significantly, we've brought people and organisations together and this sharing of ideas and willingness to collaborate has resulted in a flourishing maritime community which is successfully bringing in public and private investment, nurturing innovation, creating skilled jobs and highlighting exciting career opportunities for the young people in our communities.

"This is a vital opportunity for our region’s maritime sector to not only grow but also to contribute to the national conversation about the future of maritime, ensuring that the Solent’s voice is heard at the highest levels."

The new membership initiative will provide businesses with access to high-profile events and meetings.

These include networking meetings and roundtable events with the government and industry leaders on topics such as maritime decarbonisation and skills development.

As a special introductory offer, businesses signing up before the end of October can enjoy 18 months of membership for the price of 12.

There are four membership options available.

The 'Strategic Partner' tier costs £3,000, the 'Partner' tier is £1,500, the 'Launchpad' tier is £750 and exclusive to start-ups, while the 'Associate' tier is free.

The organisation has a network of more than 1,000 members and has been recognised nationally for promoting careers and skills to the next generation.

Maritime UK Solent's new membership initiative is aimed at further enhancing the profiles of local businesses, providing them with greater opportunities to network, collaborate, and influence maritime policy.
