Drivers in Hamble are being warned by the parish council that road works are likely to cause long delays.

Hamble Lane is set to be hit by a week-long bout of SGN road works from Monday, October 28, to Sunday, November 3.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place.

The road is one of the main routes into Hamble and frequently becomes congested, particularly during rush-hour.

A spokesperson for Hamble Parish Council said: “We have been advised that SGN will be carrying out essential work on a short section of Hamble Lane.

“As part of these works, they will be replacing 100m of old metal gas pipes with new plastic ones to ensure a safe and efficient gas supply for residents.

“To maintain road safety, two-way traffic lights will be in place during the works, so some delays are likely.

“This may affect the Windhover Roundabout.”
