A pensioner who was found under a collapsed wall in her garden during Storm Eunice died six months later in hospital.
Janet Harrison was knocked over by her neighbour’s wall during Storm Eunice, which brought strong winds and heavy rain to the UK, leaving hundreds of thousands of homes without power.
Ms Harrison, aged 76, suffered from life-threatening and catastrophic injuries including multiple fractures.
Six months after the incident on February 18, 2022, she died at Southampton General Hospital.
During an inquest held in July this year, it was heard from the head of the structural team at Hampshire County Council that the wall was unsafe and should never have been built to a height of 1.95 metres given that it was a half brick wall.
A fencing panel was also attached to the wall and “acted as a sail” when the winds of Storm Eunice hit, helping to push the wall down.

But, the court heard from the owner of the property adjoining that of Ms Harrison’s, her neighbour, and her family, who said there are several adjoining properties in the area which have walls built with the “same unsafe dimensions”.
Assistant coroner for Hampshire Sunyana Sharma said action should be taken to prevent future deaths.
She sent the findings to the building control inspectors at Eastleigh Borough Council and Southampton City Council at the start of August.
Ms Sharma warned the inspectors that there could be a risk of future deaths in storms of a similar force.
She said: "I am therefore concerned that if there were other storms in the UK of similar force to that of Storm Eunice then there is a risk of further walls in the local area collapsing thereby placing others at risk of future deaths."
Both councils have been asked to reply.
Ms Harrison was admitted to hospital twice in the time after the accident.
During her first admission she suffered from deep vein thrombosis and pneumonia, which she caught in the hospital.
Her second time in hospital saw her contract a bacterial infection and a gastrointestinal bleed.
She was treated for all of these during both admissions, but she continued to show sign of infection in June and July 2022 and was then treated for cholecystitis.
Ms Harrison also suffered from left gluteal haematoma for which she was treated surgically in August.
She died from pneumonia on August 31, 2022 and her death was deemed an accident.
