A 34-year-old man has been arrested after the attempted rape of a teenage girl in Southampton.
A police investigation has been launched following a report of an attempted rape of a 14-year-old girl on Sullivan Road this morning, October 25.
Officers were called to the scene at 8.09am and the victim is currently being supported by specialist officers.
A 34-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and attempted sexual assault.
He remains in police custody at the current time.

Southampton Chief Inspector Chris Douglas said: “I fully appreciate how concerning this will be to local residents and I want to reassure you that officers were on the scene immediately and remain in the area as we investigate this incident.
“I know that a number of people in the vicinity witnessed what happened, and urge you to contact police if you haven’t yet done so.
“Anyone with concerns is asked to approach patrolling officers, who will be in the area today.
