A HAMPSHIRE country pub has closed after its landlords moved on.
The publicans running The Hampshire Bowman, which lies between Bishop's Waltham and Droxford, had announced their intention to close the pub last month.
Now, they have announced its closure in spite of their previous hopes another tenant had been found for the building.
In their statement the landlords Mark and Chloe Newman said: "The Hampshire Bowman is closed until further notice. Unfortunately we don't feel in a position to comment any further.
"Our thanks to you all for your loyal custom over the decades."
In September, they said they were "confident" a buyer had been found for the building and that they have potential tenants.
"We believe that the buyer wants The Hampshire Bowman to stay very much unchanged and that is why they are buying it – you're a shining knight," they said.
“At the moment everything is in the hands of solicitors so there is still plenty of scope for it to all get screwed up! We also have to hope that the new government don’t create a hostile environment in the Autumn statement."
