Hampshire’s largest mental health charity has temporarily shuttered a garden centre for renovations.
Mayfield Garden Centre, part of Solent Mind, will be closed until early December, when it anticipates reopening in time for Christmas.
The refurbishments aim to enhance visitor experience, improve winter readiness, and include a new composite roof for better insulation.
Jude Gardner, acting operations manager for Southampton Services at Mayfield Garden Centre, said: "It’s an exciting time here at Mayfield Garden Centre as we undergo a much needed refurbishment to make our centre warmer and cosier for our community.
"We are hoping to open again in the first week of December and can’t wait to reveal our revamped space to visitors in the readiness for the lead-up to Christmas."
Other upgrades involve shop and kitchen renovations, which are expected to expand the café menu. In the meantime, the centre's wellbeing courses will continue to run off-site.
