A Hampshire shopping centre is set to welcome back its festive 'Christmas Village' attraction.
Gunwharf Quays has announced the 'Christmas Village' will return with an enhanced look and feel following three successful years at the waterfront shopping outlet.
Opening on Saturday, November 9, in the Plaza, the village will run until Tuesday, December 31.
Revellers will find igloo-style seating, available on a first-come, first-served basis, next to the 'Alpine Lodge Bar' serving seasonal refreshments. The bar will offer a selection of mulled wine, beers, and lagers from local and imported breweries.
Various food stalls will also be available, featuring offerings like traditional German bratwurst, Yorkshire pudding wraps, Greek souvlaki, and sweet treats such as chocolate churros.
Winter-themed games will return, giving guests a chance to win a Christmas-themed prize. Visitors can enjoy a ride on the 15-metre-high observation wheel, providing views of Portsmouth’s harbour.
At night, the wheel will be illuminated by over 10,000 LED lights. Other fairground attractions include a traditional carousel and a balloon race ride.
Yvonne Clay, centre director at Gunwharf Quays, said: "We are delighted to announce the return of our ‘Christmas Village’ for a fourth year, featuring an all-new look and feel. It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring joy and festive cheer to our guests, and we can’t wait to spread lots of seasonal goodwill."
The Christmas Village will follow a traditional European style, with handpicked artisan craft and gift traders in wooden chalets. Hampshire-based businesses will feature, selling local chutneys, cheeses, and personalised decorations.
The Christmas Village will open to the public on Saturday, November 9, in the Plaza and run until Tuesday, December 31. Opening hours are Monday to Wednesday 10am – 8pm, Thursday to Saturday 10am – 9pm and Sunday 10am-7pm.
