Details have been revealed for how Romsey will honour war heroes on Remembrance Sunday.

The town will hold its annual commemorations on November 10, starting with a 9am procession from the Alma Road Car Park.

Veterans are asked to arrive by 8.45am to take part in the parade, which will include The 22 Engineer Regiment, other military and service personnel, military cadet forces, scouts, guides, rainbow groups, and various organisations.

The Caledonian Pipe Band will lead the civic party to the Romsey Abbey.

After the service, everyone will head to the Romsey War Memorial Park for a service led by Rev Thomas Wharton.

Michelmersh Silver Band, Romsey Old Cadet Buglers, and the Romsey Abbey Choirs will provide musical support.

Peter Hurst, chairman of the Royal British Legion, will read the Exhortation and the Kohima Epitaph.

A flypast from Middle Wallop will precede the two-minute silence.

After the silence, wreaths will be laid by the civic party, attending organisations, and the public.

The procession will then return to the Romsey town centre for the official salute to the civic party.

Veterans who need a wheelchair or mobility scooter are advised to get in touch with the town council.

Road closures will be in place from 8am.
