A company has started groundworks for a senior living development in Bishop's Waltham.

The new care home by Zephyr X is aimed at boosting the standard of comfort, privacy, and quality in senior living, according to the developer.

It will feature 66 ensuite bedrooms, providing residents with both comfort and privacy.

Additionally, the project will include spacious communal lounges, dining areas, and secure gardens, all of which are tailored to enhance quality of life and promote social interaction in a warm, home-like environment.

Highlighting the critical need for the project, Bishop’s Waltham and its surroundings currently face an undersupply of 127 market-standard care home beds.

Zephyr X’s new development is the only care scheme in the area that has been granted planning approval or is currently in planning.

No new care homes have been built within this catchment area in the past 20 years, the company said, making this initiative a much-needed addition to the community’s infrastructure.

In partnership with Beechcroft, Zephyr X’s site will also feature 19 exclusive two, three, and four-bedroom houses, creating a comprehensive senior living community that caters to both independent and assisted-living needs.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to providing high-quality housing options for the region.

Adam Faulkner, founder of Zephyr X, said: "Zephyr X’s vision is to create a nurturing space where residents can truly feel at home.

"This new care home reflects our commitment to elevating senior care standards and creating an environment that combines first-rate facilities with the warmth of a community.

"We’re thrilled to bring this project to life in Bishop’s Waltham."

Bracebridge Care Group will operate the care home as part of its expanding portfolio.

Samantha Crawley, CEO of Bracebridge, added: "This project is both timely and essential.

"With a significant undersupply of market-standard beds in the area, Zephyr X’s development fills a critical gap.

"The facility, combined with Beechcroft’s senior housing, will create a well-rounded community offering vital resources to Hampshire’s senior residents."

Sarah Skuse and the team at Bevan Brittan LLP advised Zephyr X on the acquisition.

Set against the backdrop of Hampshire’s scenic landscapes, Zephyr X’s new care home is expected to be a vital addition to the region, enhancing senior living options and positively impacting the local economy through job creation and community engagement.
