A man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery after staff at an off-licence were threatened with what appeared to be a firearm on Halloween night.
Police said a man entered Coleman's Confectioners on Commercial Road between 10pm and 11pm on October 31.
He threatened staff with the object in an attempt to steal some cigarettes and cash. Police said a small handgun or imitation firearm appeared to be used.
Now a 20-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested. He remains in custody.

Nothing was stolen and no injuries were reported, and the man ran off in the direction of Mayflower Theatre.
Police are still looking to hear from anyone who has any information and has not yet come forward.
