Southampton’s Christmas market has started to take shape as it prepares to open to the public in the coming weeks.
The annual Christmas market – which is heavily German themed – will open on Above Bar Street on November 15 and include an array of festive bars, stalls, and rides.
Photos from Above Bar Street show a decorative Christmas tree dominating the city centre skyline, with sweet stands and bars situated between the shops outside West Quay.

After the market opens on November 15, Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas and panto star Kev Orkian will officially switch on the city’s Christmas lights.
Sydnie won the 2024 addition of Britain’s Got talent, after wowing the judges with her rendition on ‘Tomorrow’ from the musical, Annie.
A selection of Christmas themed images and lights are set to be projected onto the Bargate, opposite Southampton’s Christmas market.
