Giant poppies have been removed following an act of “mindless and disrespectful” vandalism.
Vandals targeted one of the large poppies erected by Eastleigh Borough Council in Leigh Road to commemorate Remembrance Day.
The local authority believes the poppy was targeted on Saturday or Sunday.
Now, all poppies on the bandstand have been removed.

A spokesperson from the council said: “This is a mindless and hugely disrespectful act of vandalism and a great shame for the local community, the Royal British Legion and everyone involved in Remembrance and Armistice 2024.
“Any information regarding this act of vandalism can be passed to Eastleigh Borough Council by contacting 023 8068 8000 or the police on 101.”
The council first started installing the giant poppies in 2020 as a way of showing its support during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since then, the poppies have been installed every year as a mark of respect.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
