Runners are being invited to take part in a half marathon.

The Brighterway charity, in partnership with the Gosport Road Runners Club, wants people to take part in the Gosport Half Marathon.

This race is set to take place on Sunday, November 17, providing a chance for runners to achieve their goals and continue their fundraising efforts.

The Gosport Half Marathon, a popular race, offers a scenic course through Gosport.

It welcomes both seasoned runners and those who were building up their stamina for the Great South Run in Portsmouth, which was cancelled last month.

Brighterway charity focuses on supporting mental health, well-being, and improving staff and patient care in Hampshire.

Gosport Road Runners Club has been a long-term supporter of Brighterway, and the half marathon is their flagship event.

Besides running, people can also support the event by volunteering.

Tasks include distributing race numbers and marshalling along the course.

Volunteering is a chance to get involved in a local event that brings the community together while contributing to a great cause.

The half marathon is being promoted as an alternative to the cancelled Great South Run that was due to take place last month in Portsmouth. It is is scheduled for October 19 in 2025.

Runners can continue their training, preparing for next year's race to make a lasting impact for Brighterway.
