A man has been charged in connection with a spree of burglaries in Gosport and Stubbington.

Jordan Ruston, 24, from Gosport, has been charged with eight counts of burglary which are said to have happened on September 20, October 15 and November 4.

Items stolen include cash, rings, airsoft equipment, a purse, a wallet, two Nintendo Switch consoles, Apple Airpods and Xbox controllers.

He allegedly took a moped from one property, which was later found dumped in a pond, police said.

The 24-year-old was also charged with theft from a motor vehicle, two counts of vehicle interferences and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place – namely owning a knuckleduster and a telescopic baton.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court today.

Police continue enquiries into other incidents of burglary and vehicle interference in Gosport and Stubbington between October 15 and November 4.
